Abstract
The data on the structure of vegetative and generative shoots of tropical orchid Dendrobium lomatochilum Seidenf. are given. It was shown that the upper buds of the shoots have the alternative capability both for vegetative and for generative morphogenesis. It is reasonable to suppose the structure of vegetative shoots of species studied to be the important criterion of adequacy of the culture pattern under glasshouse conditions to the ecological requirements of the species.
