Abstract

The results of studying the features of fruiting and the basic characteristics of seeds which are got as a result of spontaneous repollination of Astіlbe Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don plants varieties are given in order to solve a number of problems in the introduction, breeding and seed production of this crop. Considerable variability in the number of seeds produced, their size and weight of 1000 seeds of plants of different varieties is set. The productivity of seed formation in different parts of the inflorescence of Astilbe is studied and it is set that the most productive is its middle part. The comparative analysis of sowing qualities of seeds of plants of Astilbe varieties depending on the year of its reproduction is carried out and some differences in the number and weight of seeds in different years of the study are found. Six basic types of surface microrelief of seeds are identified.
